§ 1. Definitions

1. Application – software named “UMLUB navi”, made available to Users by the Service Provider in the form of a mobile application installed on a Mobile Device via Google Play or the App Store.
2. Bluetooth – short-range wireless communication technology enabling data exchange between electronic devices.
3. Location Services – a feature of a Mobile Device enabling determination of its position using GNSS (GPS) technology and other available positioning methods.
4. Maps – cartographic data and building plans of the Medical University of Lublin made available to the User through the Application.
5. Notifications – messages displayed on the screen of a Mobile Device and delivered through the Application.
6. Terms of Use – this document specifying the rules governing the use of the Application.
7. Agreement – an agreement for the provision of electronic services concluded between the User and the Service Provider under the conditions specified in these Terms of Use.
8. Mobile Device – a device enabling the use of the Application, in particular a smartphone or tablet operating under Android or iOS.
9. Service – an electronically provided service consisting of enabling the User to use the functionalities of the Application.
10. Service Provider – the Medical University of Lublin.
11. User – any person using the Application.

§ 2. General Provisions

1. These Terms of Use define the rules governing the use of the UMLUB navi mobile application, as well as the rights and obligations of Users and the Service Provider.
2. The UMLUB navi Application is intended for students, employees, patients, visitors, and all persons visiting the facilities of the Medical University of Lublin.
3. The Application is designed to support navigation within:

1. 1. the Medical Simulation Center,
2. 2. Collegium Pharmaceuticum,
3. 3. Collegium Novum,
4. 4. Collegium Maius Anatomicum,
5. 5. outdoor areas located between the above-mentioned buildings.

4. Detailed rules regarding the processing of personal data are specified in the Privacy Policy of the Application.
5. Copyright and other intellectual property rights to the Application, its graphical elements, maps, content, and software belong to the Medical University of Lublin or entities from which the University has obtained the relevant rights.
6. The Agreement for the provision of services is concluded when the User installs the Application on a Mobile Device.

§ 3. Rules for Using the Application

1. The Application uses GNSS (GPS) signals and BLE beacon technology to determine the User’s position and calculate routes.
2. Use of the Application is voluntary and free of charge.
3. The Application does not require registration or user login.
4. Some functionalities may require Internet access, active location services, and an active Bluetooth module.
5. Positioning accuracy depends on technical and environmental conditions, including:

1. 1. GNSS signal quality,
2. 2. the number of visible satellites,
3. 3. building structures,
4. 4. terrain obstacles,
5. 5. radio interference,
6. 6. technical parameters of the User’s Mobile Device.

6. The User acknowledges that location indications and calculated routes are provided for guidance purposes only and may differ from the actual position.
7. The Application is compatible with Android and iOS accessibility features, including screen readers.
8. Users may utilize accessibility functions regardless of whether they have any disability or special needs.
9. The following activities are prohibited:

1. 1. using the Application contrary to its intended purpose,
2. 2. attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Application or its infrastructure,
3. 3. interfering with the operation of the Application,
4. 4. using the Application for unlawful purposes.

10. The User may stop using the Application at any time by uninstalling it.

§ 4. Services Available Through the Application

1. Services provided through the Application are free of charge.
2. The Application enables, in particular:

1. 1. displaying maps and building plans,
2. 2. searching for rooms, organizational units, and points of interest,
3. 3. route planning between buildings,
4. 4. indoor navigation using BLE beacons,
5. 5. displaying the User’s current location,
6. 6. use of accessibility features supporting persons with special needs,
7. 7. receiving organizational, safety, and evacuation notifications,
8. 8. using the Application in Polish and English.

3. The Service Provider may develop the Application by introducing new functionalities.

§ 5. Technical Requirements

1. Use of the Application requires downloading it from Google Play or the App Store.
2. The Application is intended for mobile devices with Internet access.
3. Minimum technical requirements:

1. 1. Android 8.0 or later,
2. 2. iOS 13.0 or later,
3. 3. active Internet connection,
4. 4. active location services,
5. 5. active Bluetooth module for indoor positioning functionalities.

4. The Service Provider does not guarantee proper operation of the Application on devices that do not meet the minimum technical requirements.

§ 6. Liability

1. The Service Provider exercises due diligence to ensure the proper functioning of the Application.
2. Maps, building plans, and information presented in the Application are provided for informational and illustrative purposes only.
3. The User uses the Application at their own risk and is responsible for independently assessing surrounding conditions.
4. The Service Provider shall not be liable for:

1. 1. disruptions caused by telecommunications operators,
2. 2. lack of Internet or Bluetooth access on the User’s side,
3. 3. improper functioning of the User’s device,
4. 4. consequences of using the Application in violation of these Terms of Use,
5. 5. temporary unavailability of services resulting from maintenance work or technical failures.

5. The Service Provider shall not be liable for damages resulting from incorrect interpretation of information presented in the Application.

§ 7. Final Provisions

1. The Service Provider may temporarily restrict access to the Application for technical, organizational, or security reasons.
2. Use of the Application constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.
3. The Service Provider reserves the right to amend these Terms of Use in the event of:

1. 1. changes in applicable laws,
2. 2. development of Application functionalities,
3. 3. organizational or technical changes.

4. Users will be informed of any amendments to the Terms of Use through the Application.
5. If a User does not accept the amended Terms of Use, they may terminate the Agreement by uninstalling the Application from their Mobile Device.
6. These Terms of Use shall enter into force on the date of their publication.
